It’s hard to believe that in just a few short days it will be the 4th of July. The holiday is always one of my favorites, complete with BBQs, fireworks, and plenty to do and see around Long Island. This month I am excited to add to my list of summer fun and plan to be out and about as much as possible.
Try: George Martin’s Burger Bar has been on my list of restaurants to try for longer than I would like to admit. I have been frequenting The Original George Martin restaurant since childhood, and still make the trek to Rockville Centre for special occasions. But, with it being the 4th of July weekend, it seems like an appropriate time to finally check this place out.
Read: I wish I could say that I breezed through Aliza Licht’s book, Leave Your Mark, last month. But sadly, that is not the case (through no fault of the books, or course!). I did manage to purchase a copy from my local Barnes & Noble, but like a lot of things on my to-do list, finding time for reading was not in the cards. With any luck, I will have more success this month!
See: I had such a fabulous time at the Metropolitan Museum of Art last month that I would really like to make it to the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). I’m not sure why I am first now realizing how much there is to do in New York City, but I am appreciating the arts and all the City has to offer more than I used to.
Go: The beach is a high priority by now! Usually, my beach season starts in May, and by July I have a nice golden hue. Not this year. Thanks to an unseasonably cool June, complete with rain on the weekends, I haven’t even gotten my beach pass for the season. But here’s hoping that July will bring us some hot, sunny days and I will be back in business.
Do: I’ve wanted to try yoga on the stand up paddle board since last summer. Unfortunately, my yoga practice has come to a screeching halt as of late (thanks to kickboxing and the four days of soreness that accompany it!), but I would like to get back into it. And what better way to do so than out on the water?
What’s on your itinerary for July?
I can’t believe the 4th of July weekend here is already! Crazy how summer is flying by. 🙂
I would LOVE to go to the beach- definitely a summer must. 🙂
