It’s been a minute (actually, many minutes) since I last took a vacation down to a tropical island. But when a girl in my office mentioned a trip to the Cayman Islands, I was all in (even if technically I wasn’t invited). Normally, I’m not one for making spontaneous plans. Perhaps it was the fact that it was the first day of spring and I am officially over the cold weather, or maybe it was a #FOMO moment that I knew I would later regret if I didn’t go. Whatever the case, hearing her talk about the white sand beaches and crystal clear water had me already packing my bags and booking my flight…which was what I later did.
In case you are still confused, let me try to clear things
up for you. I may have inadvertently hijacked this girl’s trip and invited
another girl in my office along…so now the three of us are all going to the
Cayman Islands together in May. You with me? Good.
I’ve received a few amazing recommendations so far from a friend who vacations down there with her family, and the girl I am going with has spent a lot of time on the island as well. But, if there is anything I absolutely must do or see, please let me know. We rented a gorgeous condo that is steps from the beach, so I will likely spend most of my days there. I’ve also left time for horseback riding on the beach, a relaxing yoga class, and swimming with stingrays—you know—just in case lounging on the beach gets old.
So, let the countdown to Cayman officially commence.
