Ever need that extra motivation to get out of bed and start your day? Or that little bit of inspiration to hit up the gym after work? If you’re anything like me, Instagram may be your go-to place to search for a few trending hashtags (#Motivation, #WorkoutGoals, #WellnessWarrior) to get your juices flowing. Before you know it, that hour you were going to spend at the gym has been swallowed up scrolling mindlessly through other people’s feed.
Today, I’m sharing five of my favorite health and wellness accounts to follow with you. These are my first stop on the gram for all things inspiration and motivation in regards to health and wellness. I love the quality content that these accounts share and I am always eager to see their new posts.
Fern Olivia: This one should be pretty obvious. Fern is the woman I call my holistic thyroid guru and also the founder of Thyroid Yoga. If you’ve been a regular reader of my blog, you might be very familiar with her name. In short, Fern pretty much brought me into her wellness circle when I met her in 2016. Since then, I have attended a few of the wellness events she’s hosted on Long Island and in New York City, although these days, you are likely to find her posting about living in beautiful Nosara, Costa Rica and her upcoming retreat in Portgual. If you have any type of thyroid issue, Fern is a wonderful resource and I can’t recommend her therapeutic-grade essential oils enough.
Lauren Chiarello: AKA Chi Chi Life NYC, is a fellow cancer thriver turned fitness fundraising extraordinaire. I’ve taken a couple of barre classes with Lauren in New York City and have always left the class feeling like a new human being. She has amazing energy and I love that she gives back to the cancer community in so many ways. Plus, she is always posting inspiring quotes throughout her feed that really resonate with me.
Dr. Elyse Tursi: Dr. Tursi is a functional medicine doctor with offices in New York City and Long Island. I found her Instagram page through another account I follow and immediately started tuning into her content. She shares a lot about holistic medicine and nutrition, and I swear, I feel like I have completed at least a semester of medical school through watching her stories. She’s planning to start a podcast soon and I will absolutely be tuning in.
Bonnie Crotzer: If you are interested in Chinese medicine and acupressure, you need to follow Bonnie. She is one of the co-founders of Ghost Flower, an activewear brand that incorporates acupressure points into the seams of the fabric. Bonnie shares a lot of great content about Chinese medicine, the Ghost Flower brand (and even shows you how to activate the acupressure points), and also teaches classes in New York City.
Dianna Falzarano: Dianna is #WorkoutInspo for sure! She is the Director of TRX at Flex Studios and also teaches at Pure Barre (in addition to training private clients). If I ever think I’m too tired for a workout, I head over to Dianna’s page where I’m sure to find videos of her biking on a boardwalk, working out on a pilates reformer, or teaching her sixth class of the day. I’ve taken a couple of classes with her at my local Flex Studios and she really does mean business when she says that it’s going to be a total body workout.
