I returned from D.C. just in time to enjoy one final Restaurant Week meal. Since Sunday, May 3rd was the last night of prix-fixed bliss, I took full advantage and headed to Jonathan’s Ristorante in Huntington, New York.
I had always read positive reviews about Jonathan’s, and being from Huntington, I was excited to try a new place in town. Their Restaurant Week menu certainly stood out as unique, and after some very good meals in D.C. (more on that trip later in the week!), the bar was set high.
Jonathan’s is located on Wall Street in Huntington Village and offers ample parking, thanks to a municipal lot in back. Despite dining on a Sunday evening, I was pleased that the restaurant was not crowded or noisy and the ambience was nice.
Their regular menu was distinctive, but I found their Restaurant Week menu to be a good mix between more traditional and slightly exotic fare. For my appetizer I ordered a Caesar salad (without the anchovies). The portion was small but otherwise good.
I was looking forward to my entrée — a sirloin burger on a brioche bun with herbed French fries, which did not disappoint. The sirloin was juicy and flavorful, and the brioche bun was perfection. I may never be able to eat a “regular” burger again!
For dessert, I ordered the Nutella tiramisu with chocolate shavings. Although I detected little of the Nutella flavoring, the dessert was light and sweet.
The food at Jonathan’s was worth the visit and you certainly can’t beat the cozy location in the Village!
OMG this all looks delicious!!
