Fun on the Fourth

Oakdale Fireworks

This was the best weekend of the summer, to date. We enjoyed near perfect weather on Long Island, I got to see not one but two fireworks shows, I spent an afternoon paddle boarding, and I finally made it to the beach (hallelujah!). I can now say that it feels like summer.

This weekend also gave me some time reflect. Be it the beach and the sound of the waves, or just all the time I spent outdoors, the last three days made me realize how fast time goes. It’s hard to believe we just celebrated the Fourth of July, and before we know it it will be Labor Day weekend. As I plan out the rest of my summer I know I want to make the most of these beautiful days. I want to embrace each day from the minute I wake up to the time I put my head on the pillow to go to sleep. I can say after this wonderful weekend that I truly made the most out of the three days and it has left me invigorated…and a bit tired, but in a good way. I know I can’t do anything to slow the days down, but I hope I can find the peace within each coming day that I felt over the weekend.

I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend and had a very happy Fourth of July!
