It’s official! October is here and it is time for pumpkin everything. And to warmly welcome pumpkin pandemonium (you know I’ll be using this as a hashtag all month, right?!), I stopped at my local Starbucks yesterday and promptly ordered a pumpkin scone (I’m letting the suspense build a little longer before I go all out and order a Pumpkin Spice Latte, too!).
Now I can put my pumpkins on display without any strange looks from the neighbors; it’s acceptable to eat and drink pumpkin anything for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; and my skull decor doesn’t seem so out of place in my home office. So let’s get to it!
I’ve rounded up some of my favorite things that I’ve come across on other blogs, social media, and around the web that have me embracing fall!
While I still prefer the real deal, these black and gold “studded” pumpkins from Target that I first saw on Instagram are perfect for fall decor. They have just the right amount of glitz and are acceptable to have on your desk at work in my opinion. For $6, I’m going to grab one (or two!) for my home office. But, if you are creative and find yourself with time on your hands, they could easily be replicated with some paint, a glue gun, and gold studs.
And who could forget about Zigi, my trusty skull-cessory (yes, I just made that up) from Z Gallerie? If you’re looking for your very own spooky skull decor, Z Gallerie has his long lost cousin in gold, or a similar version of the silver metallic one that I have can be found in gold at Target.
But my favorite thing about all of this pumpkin and fall talk so far has been the array of mouth-watering recipes that I’ve come across. Here are a few of my favorites (in no particular order) that I will be trying my hand at this season.
Baked Pumpkin Spice Latte Doughnuts via Treats and Trends
Maple Molasses Donuts via Camille Styles
Pumpkin Spice Milkshake via Threads and Blooms
And, since we can’t forget about the apples…
This post from Gold Coast Girl surely has enough recipes to keep even Johnny Appleseed busy for a while. And Camille Styles has a great recipe for Sprouted Rye Apple Butter Muffins that sounds delicious.
P.S. If you’re looking for some weekend reading, I guest posted on The Rossetto Blog and shared how you can still take that summer vacation you’ve been dreaming of — well into fall (I promise, the Pumpkin Spice Lattes will be waiting for you when you get back). Head over to Emily’s blog to check it out!
What has you drooling or swooning about fall?

Thanks, Kathy! I love butternut squash, too. My grandma makes it for Thanksgiving and it is definitely a fall favorite. Have a great weekend!
Such an awesome post, Vanessa! You’re writing skills are phenomenal, I was thoroughly engaged the entire post!
I, too, can’t wait to indulge in anything and everything pumpkin this season. We already started last night with some pumpkin ice cream sandwiches from Whole Foods, which were out of this world delicious!

Pumpkin pandemonium is a great way to put it! I missed that while I was living abroad and being back in the throws of autumn in the US is so lovely and festive! I have been devouring all things pumpkin all week! Thanks for the recipes, those Maple Molasses donuts look incredible!

It’s the best! Thanks for visiting Living in Steil and have a great weekend!
Love your focus on pumpkins! Perfect post for the beginning of October. Now if I can get the squirrels in my neighborhood to stay away from mine on the front porch, that would be fabulous!
http://www.kathrineeldridge.com
Thanks, Katherine! I know what you mean about the squirrels. I usually don’t have too much of an issue with them eating the pumpkins until they begin to soften…then they mercilessly munch on them and make a mess! Have a great weekend.
The time for pumpkin everything certainly is here! I actually picked up my first pumpkin spice latte of the year today and was very happy with it – it was actually the first time I had ever had it. Never had their pumpkin scones before though!

They are so delicious! It just started getting cool here, too. It’s the perfect weather for a pumpkin scone and latte. Have a great weekend!
Loving this!! And loving your fall posts on the Insta – although I’m fairly certain I’m craving Starbucks everyday because of you. Ha! 😉

Oh, so sorry! I don’t mean to be a bad influence. LOL! I have no willpower when it comes to Starbucks. I keep promising myself I will cut-back, but it never happens — and now that pumpkin season is here, I’m not even going to pretend! Glad you liked the post. Have a nice weekend!
Ditto, lady! Make it a great one. 🙂
I admit that I am pumpkin obsessed too. I love baking pumpkin pie and pumpkin scones in the fall, definitely need to try that pumpkin pie milkshake — sounds yummy!

Those milkshakes sound too good to resist. I’m definitely going to give them a try soon. Maybe over the weekend since they are predicting non-stop rain?! Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend.

Have a great weekend!

Yummm pumokin scones! I’m a huge fan of pumpkin everything but sadly there’s not much in Germany. I think I’ll have to try some of these recipes! Siden note: I love skull decor and have some in my house as well!
Oh, no, Annessa! Guess my trip to Germany will have to wait until after pumpkin season. LOL. Enjoy the recipes. Isn’t skull decor the best? Have a great weekend!
Decorating my own pumpkin.my favorite is a “girl” pumpkin. I paint “her” with a beautiful face for my front stoop! Halloween can be anyone’s choice of decoration!
I’m looking forward to decorating some pumpkins, too! This rainy weather is proving to be a great incentive. Have a great weekend, Susan!
Wow looks yummy, I wish the pumpkin spice latte was here too in Kl or anything of that flavour 🙂
