A Day at the Beach…in December

West Neck Beach

I never thought that I would be posting photos from my recent trip to the beach…in December. But that’s just what we have here today. If you are fortunate enough to live somewhere that has been enjoying record highs, then you’ll agree that it has been amazing. If you’ve already seen snow, broken out your winter coat, or had to wait for your car to defrost, then my apologies for parading these sunny beach pictures in front of you.

We will likely not have a white Christmas this year on the East Coast. But I’d like to think that the recent record temps have come because I finally broke down and purchased a new winter coat this year…that I might not get to wear. You can thank me now!

    1. Thanks, Danielle! I love spending summer days at the beach, but never thought I would be visiting in December. This warm weather has been amazing. I hope I get to break out my winter coat at some point this season!

  1. Such beautiful photos, Vanessa! I’ve been enjoying the weather as well! It’s crazy that we’ve been enjoying 60 degree temps in the middle of December; I don’t remember this ever happening. What’s even more crazy is that last Friday, I saw a full moon out at 9am in the morning. I thought I was seeing things for a moment, but fortunately, I had some other eye witnesses! What’s even more weird is that I called this. I told my husband during the summer that I had this feeling that we’d be experiencing a warm winter and that I wouldn’t be surprised if it were to snow in July of next year; I hope I’m wrong about that one, haha! Nonetheless, let’s enjoy it while it all lasts!

I hope you’re having a wonderful day so far, beautiful, and thanks for sharing these beautiful photos!

    1. Thanks, Jalisa! I really hope you are wrong about snow in July. That would put a serious crimp in my beach plans. I can’t believe these temps, though. I plan on fully embracing them while they last, but it looks like I will have to travel to get a real taste of winter this year.

  2. Amazing photos Vanessa, I hope you had a great time! The temperature is high here too and white Christmas is for sure not an option 🙂 I bought a new coat as well and just today I got it back from my tailor and hope to wear it soon! Who knows! Can’t wait to see what coat you picked and how you are going to style it, but I am sure it will be gorgeous!
    Have a great day!

    1. Thanks, Stella! It sounds like we are all having crazy weather this year. I’m glad you got your coat back and I hope the weather cools down enough so we can both wear our purchases. Thanks for visiting Living in Steil!

    1. Thanks, Colleen! The weather has definitely been crazy this year. We would normally have snow, or at least some biter cold days, on the East Coast by now. I never thought I would say that I miss snow, but it just doesn’t feel like December and holiday time without it.
