Don’t you just hate it when your nail polish starts to chip?
The other night, as I was about to remove my week-old chipping polish, I noticed that the top part of my nails still looked decent. So I decided to get creative. I dabbed a Q-tip in the nail polish remover to create my own version of a French manicure. I gently removed all of the polish except a thin line at the top of my nails. It was easy to do, and in a few minutes my nails looked presentable. Depending on your initial polish color (I had Center of the You-niverse from OPI on my nails), you could even swipe a lighter color over the entire nail for a chic two-tone look.
What do you think about this look?
Very cool idea! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

Thanks, Jalisa! I think this is a great idea for when you’re not quite ready to remove the polish, but your nails need to be freshened up.
My nails are always such a nightmare so I’m going to adopt this look and just pretend I meant it to look like that!

Thanks, Danielle! Isn’t it a fun way to get some extra time out of your manicure? I’m glad you enjoyed the post.
What a great idea!! I normlally get gels – but I know I will not be making it to the salon NEARLY as much with 2 kiddos soon, so I love this tip!

Thanks, Colleen! I’m glad you liked this idea. And I hope you’ll still be able to squeeze in some time at the nail salon.
Oh what a very interesting (and timely post!) I was just thinking this about my nails currently.. However I notice that mine ALWAYS chip at the very top so I am left with a weird color in the middle and around the edges it disappears.. WEIRDO NAILS! 🙂

Oh no, Kelly! My nails tend to start chipping on the sides. This time they started down by the base of my nails, so this version of a French manicure was born. I’m glad you enjoyed the post.
I swear my nails start chipping after like 2 hours haha that’s why I rarely paint them. Love this idea though!

Oh no, Jamie! I can usually go a few days before my nails start chipping. Still, I love having polish on my nails.
