If there is one thing I love about summer it’s that I can wear rompers, shorts, and dresses to my heart’s content. If there is one thing my hair loves about summer, it’s that it gets a reprieve from constant blow drying and flat ironing sessions.
With lots of time spent at the beach and by the pool, summer is ideal for relaxed, wavy hair. Not sure which product will give you the best results? I’ve rounded up three of my go-to’s that are easy to use and work on most types of hair.
Aveda Be Curly: I’ve been using this curl enhancer for a number of years. Since it’s from Aveda, it not only smells amazing, but it has a wheat protein and aloe-infused formula that boosts shine and combats frizz. A little goes a long way with this product (although once you smell it, you may be tempted to keep applying it). I apply it to damp hair right before bed and let it work its magic overnight. Come morning, I have gorgeous loose waves that look effortless and chic. For more hold, apply a small amount of product to dry hair or finish with your favorite hair spray.
Beach Muk Sea Salt Spray: I wrote a longer review of this product last year after receiving a trio of Muk products from the Long Island Pulse magazine. This sea salt spray quickly became a favorite product of mine last summer, and fortunately I should have enough to get me through this season, too. For a tousled no-muss, no-fuss beachy look, spray this product on wet or dry hair, scrunch hair with your fingers, and you’re ready to head out the door. The natural sea salt adds texture while providing a nice matte finish to the hair.
L’Oreal Txt It Tousle Waves Spray: If you’re looking for a product that offers beachy waves with some hold, this is it. The Fibralock Tech keeps your loose waves in place without weighing down your hair. I like to keep this product in my bag and use it on my hair after a day at the beach. But you could just as easily use it on clean hair. For added texture, spray product on wet hair and use a diffuser to dry.
What are some of your favorite hair products to use in the summer?
I’ve never tried a curling mousse/spray on my hair before but this looks soooooo tempting! Thanks for sharing and reminding me to give it a go xx

Definitely give it a try! It’s an easy way to change up your hair routine for summer!
I use that wave spray, too! It’s perfect for when you let your hair air dry! I might have to try that Aveda Be Curly, sounds like a great product.

Thanks, Jamie! You’ll love Aveda’s Be Curly. It’s a nice product to put in your hair for some extra volume as it air dries.
I’m going to try that Aveda Be Curly for sure. I love not having to blow dry my hair during the summer and I always prefer to wash it the night before and let it dry naturally. I’ve been using the Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray for a couple of years and I love it!

I do the same with my hair in the warmer months, Bryn! I love letting it air dry. I’m sure my hair appreciates the break from the constant heat I inflict on it, too.
These do seem like great products for the summer, I’m especially interested in the Aveda, I’ll have to give that one a try! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you’re having a wonderful week so far!

It’s a good product to keep on hand for summer, Tamara! I use it all summer long.
Thanks for sharing these summer hair products. Since I cut my hair, I don’t have much to do with it. I would like to try that waves spray when I want to air dry. Great post!

I’ve been looking for some products that will allow me to style my hair without heat this summer and these sound perfect!
Heidi || Wishes & Reality
Definitely give these a try, Heidi! For everyday curls I’d go with Aveda’s Be Curly. But if you want that beachy look, the other two products should do it!
I use the L’Oreal product as well and LOVE it! It really helps my hair look thicker when I air dry it and makes it so I can sometimes hold a curl for more than an hour. I need to get a new sea salt spray and will have to check this one out!
I totally agree, Kasie! The L’Oreal sea salt spray gives my hair tons of volume all day.
these are great ones. i love a good salt spray for beachy texture!
