Getting away for a couple of days was just what I needed to feel a little more like my old self again (and less like this stressed out cyborg that I lately feel like). Perhaps it was the Central New York air, or just the fact that I was away from the hustle and bustle of life in the suburbs, but something about long, hilly roads and fields that seemed to stretch as far as the eye could see made me feel at peace. While the slower pace of life was a welcome relief, after a couple of days away, it was nice to return home.
I made it back to Long Island in time to enjoy “Music Under the Stars” with conductor David Stewart Wiley and the LI Concert Orchestra at Heckscher Park. It was a beautiful night to be outside listening to classical music—and a great concert to finish out the Summer Arts Festival concert series.
Here’s a quick recap of my long weekend:

Sounds like the perfect weekend in my opinion! Love seeing the photos on Insta. Enjoy your week Vanessa!

Thanks, Kathrine!
Wow! That view looks incredible! It sounds like you had a very relaxing weekend. There’s something so therapeutic about being away in the mountains and breathing in that fresh mountain air. I’d love to be sitting in that Adirondack chair with my morning coffee right about now 🙂
