Nothing helps ring in the holidays like an office party this time of year. And while I am looking forward to attending mine tonight at the Bourne Mansion, that excitement was met with frustration when I couldn’t find anything suitable to wear. Seriously? What is with all of the sleeveless tops and short dresses that are out now? It is mid-December, after all.
When my search began, I was determined to find an appropriate outfit for this party and something that I would be able to also wear again to the office (read: not a one-hit wonder).
I searched high and low in the weeks leading up to our fancy soirée for the perfect ensemble. I thought I would surely find a suitable option during all of the steals and deals to be had after Thanksgiving. But I began to feel desperate after weeks of searching turned up no contenders. I spent an entire day (a snow day, mind you) hitting up local boutiques in the hopes of finding something that would work. But still, no luck.
With only 48 hours remaining on the party clock, I took one last look at my local Anthropologie and Nordstrom Rack. By this point, I was pretty sure I would be rocking this strapless black jumpsuit from LOFT and I was merely searching for a metallic sweater to wear over it.
As luck would have it, the day of our party is supposed to be the coldest of the week. So, I’m happy that I’ll be wearing a jumpsuit and won’t need to pull out the thicker tights. And I’m even more excited about the fact that I found a shimmery sweater from Calvin Klein at the Nordstrom Rack that will keep me cozy and chic in my strapless jumpsuit all night long.
This holiday look is perfect Vanessa! I love the tux jacket thrown over the jumpsuit for an extra dose of chic. Dying over the accessories.

This is a very nice piece of classy dress. Perfect for dress up dinners.
