Merry Christmas!
This is my first Christmas in my new place and to say that I’m excited about the holidays this year would be an understatement. I always love this time of year, but this December felt extra special. My enthusiasm arrived early—I gleefully began listening to Christmas music as the last plate was cleared from the Thanksgiving table (“Carol of the Bells” on major repeat, anyone?).
As the days got closer, I wrestled with the decision of whether or not to get a Christmas tree this year. But, ultimately, I couldn’t imagine skipping what has become a tradition for me. While I made concessions in terms of size, my little 48 inch tree is a champion—and may just become a new tradition from this point on (it was so much easier transporting and decorating the little guy).
After many changes and challenges this year, I am feeling unbelievably thankful and grateful. I plan on cherishing this Christmas and each and every day leading up to the New Year.
I hope that whatever and wherever you celebrate this holiday season, it brings you as much joy as it did for me, and that you are surrounded by the ones you love and who love you.
