Hello there! Have you been wondering what’s become of me? Well, sadly, I haven’t won Mega Millions and moved to some remote island off the grid…or finally decided to take a year-long trip around the world. Let’s just chalk my couple-months-long-absence up to adulting…like major, adulting…okay? But, I promise not to disappear on you again!
In my unintended blogging hiatus, I’ve been keeping very busy with my new job, which I can whole-heartedly say that I love. For the first time in my career, I wake up with a purpose and go to bed with satisfaction. Each day, in my own small way, I hopefully make a difference in the life of someone who has been diagnosed with cancer. While the role comes with its challenges and learning curves, I feel fortunate to work for a foundation that supports the best researchers in the field and co-workers who inspire me. As a cancer survivor and advocate, it is a dream job.
And if you think blogging was the only thing that has been non-existent in recent months, my workouts have also taken a hit. I recently returned to kickboxing after more months “off” than I’d like to admit, and let’s just say I have been sore AF ever since my first class back (actually, I’m writing this post on my iPhone because I’m too lazy to move from my couch to my computer after the last class). Back in February, I got invited to try out an SLT class (think pilates on reformers) and that was pretty much my only recent workout until now. Fortunately for you, I’ll be sharing a whole review of the SLT class later this week.
Phew, that was a lot to get through. Now that I’ve updated you all on my whereabouts, I’m excited to get back to business—and, yes, back to reading all of your blogs, too. I felt guilty many nights about not having the energy to write a blog post, but with all that I’ve had going on in my personal life, I didn’t really have anything new or noteworthy to say. I’ve always tried to keep this space a positive one, and in that spirit, I decided not to post anything until I could come up for air. I appreciate your understanding and hope that you will continue to visit me over here!
I always enjoy catching up with old friends. So, I’d love to know, what fun things have you been up to in my absence?
Great that you’re back!!!
Thanks!
So happy to hear that you love your job! Love that you are helping others with cancer which is so dear to my heart. Excited to hear about this new fitness class. I just got off a short blogging break as well. Glad to see you back and have a lovely week Vanessa!
