They say time flies when you are having fun. There must be some truth to that, since the last couple of weekends felt like they flew by. Yet, here we are again—at the start of a new week.
As someone who is always on the go, I know just how hard it is to find time to breathe some days. I usually feel like I’m on autopilot—either running back and forth to the office or out to my grandmother’s after work. My workouts have once again come to a screeching halt (although I have been trying to get out for a walk at least once a day), but my healthy eating habits seem to be holding strong.
With the nice weather ahead, I know that finding downtime to enjoy will be a struggle. Over the weekend, after our 10 days of rain let up, I decided to take a spontaneous trip down to the beach. It wasn’t that I had nothing better to do (actually, I had a laundry list of things to get done before the weekend was over). But I decided that an hour at the beach wouldn’t be the end of the world. So, I jumped in the car and headed on my way.
Once there, I walked along the shore until I came to the end of the tiny strip of beach. I savored those 60 minutes and felt a sense of calm as I headed back to my car. It was like that short sanity break made me better equipped to be productive for the rest of the day.
Finding those little moments are what life is all about. Sometimes you have to steal them, but in the end, you always cherish them.
I hope you find a few of those precious moments in your busy week ahead to enjoy for yourself.
It looks beautiful there! So glad you took the time to relax with nature. Happy Monday Vanessa!
