Memorial Day Weekend is finally here—and it actually feels like summer outside! Can you sense my enthusiasm?
If you are still sans plans, here are a few easy ways to enjoy the unofficial start of summer:
Get a beach pass and head to your nearest beach: I, for one, definitely plan on getting my beach pass early in the season (as in, this weekend!), so I can take full advantage of weekends down at the beach. If you have nothing on your itinerary this weekend, the beach is a good place to start.
Plan a picnic: Picnics are easy to throw together and the perfect way to spend a little quality time either alone or with friends. Grab the largest beach blanket you can find, a couple of simple items to snack on, and your favorite lemonade or iced tea, and you are in business.
Take a day trip somewhere: Living on Long Island, I’m fortunate enough to be able to be either in New York City or the Hamptons in under two hours, which makes it easy to get out and go. While I wouldn’t want to head out East on Memorial Day Weekend (think: traffic), a lot of the towns have plenty of events throughout the weekend. Check your local towns for some inspiration!
Go on a hike: If the beach isn’t your thing, get out and enjoy a few hours in nature. Bring along your camera and practice your photography or a journal to reflect, and you can have both a leisurely and productive afternoon.
Get a workout in: This weekend will be all about the beach, nature, and yes, yoga for me (in case you couldn’t tell). Find an outdoor yoga class in the park or a sunset yoga class down by the beach and get your OM on as we flow right into summer.
Hope you all have a great weekend! I’ll be back here on Wednesday with a new post!

Thanks, Kathrine! I hope you enjoyed your hike.
I usually go for a hike since I live nowhere near water, but if I were you I would spend every single second of my life on the beach.

Thanks, Dorota! I hope you enjoyed you weekend and your hike. That sounds like a great way to spend Memorial Day Weekend!
This is a nice list of activities to consider. It is absolutely worthwhile to consider. Picnics are my favorite.
