Just like that, June has arrived. While I love the summer months—time at the beach, longer days, and warmer weather—I feel like it comes and goes so quickly. This year, I took full advantage and started my summer season right as Memorial Day Weekend arrived. In the past, I’ve waited for it to truly feel like summer before I’ve gone out and seized the season—and I definitely feel like I’ve gotten gypped. In an effort to avoid past events, I’ve packed my itinerary with plenty of fun in the sun.
Let’s see what’s on the agenda this month:
Do: What are my three favorite things in life? That would definitely be yoga, clothing, and skin care. So, when I received an email that my local Bloomingdale’s store was a holding a free yoga class and that Kiehl’s was going to be there for facials after the workout, well, how quickly can I hit R-S-V-P? Next weekend, I’ll be taking a yoga class, shopping at Bloomingdale’s, and then, yes, getting a facial.
Try: While I’m not a huge lip gloss person, when I read a glowing review of the Elixir Lip Gloss from Vapour Organic Beauty, I knew I needed to splurge. I’ve been a fan of the natural makeup brand for years. I first started using their Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation and was immediately impressed with the texture and coverage it offered. To date, it is still my favorite natural foundation. So, I’m sure I will love my new lip gloss in Flirt, a fun coral hue, when it arrives.
Go: In the spirit of taking full advantage of pretty much any activity that has me outdoors on nice days, the local yoga studio that I purchased a Groupon for (and actually started using) will be holding a meditation class by the harbor. What could be more relaxing than meditating to the sound of water?
See: One of the local restaurants, Prime, nestled along the water, is offering outdoor movie nights this summer. How nice would it be to have a delicious dinner, watch the sunset, and finish the evening off with an outdoor movie? They have a couple of dates this month and will be showing Anchorman and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Here’s hoping I make it out to see one of those movies.
Meet: One of the things that I love about being a blogger is making connections. Lately, I’ve been able to meet up with some of my local social media and blog followers IRL. It has been so nice to meet with people who have followed my story and my site in person, and it has given us the chance to learn more about each other and to connect outside the likes, follows, and comments. I look forward to meeting up with another local follower this weekend!
