It’s hard to believe that July has come…and gone. And it makes me sad to think that September is right around the corner—which at least in my mind marks the beginning of fall. So, that means we all need to live it up for the next 31 days. I know I certainly will be!
With that being said, here’s what’s on my agenda for the month:
Do: I was so excited to partner with an amazing organization and take part in one of their social media campaigns. I wish I could tell you more right now, but you can check it out on my Instagram on August 7th. I hope you will love my vision for the campaign as much as I do!
Go: No summer would be complete if it didn’t conclude with a day trip out east to attend the Hampton Classic Horse Show, which will take place this year from August 26th to September 2nd. I have been going to the equestrian competition every year, and always look forward to seeing the incredible equine athletes and their human counterparts tackle some seriously large jumps in the Grand Prix ring. Of course, I make a day of it, which starts with coffee from Hampton Coffee as I make my way out to Bridgehampton, NY and then indulge in a late brunch at the Golden Pear Café after the show.
See: The Summer Arts Festival at Heckscher Park is still in full swing, but before it wraps up there are three more concerts that I would love to attend. So far, I have already made it to three concerts (the Nassau Pops Symphony Orchestra, Sol Y Sombra Spanish Dance Co., and the Lao Tizer Band), but I hope to see the Danny Green Trio, the Long Island Orchestra performing Bernstein’s America, and BeauSoleil.
Attend: I saw a post for the Zenscape Yoga and Arts Festival pop up in my Facebook feed and thought it sounded like a fun event. It takes place on August 18th and is a full day of yoga, music, arts, health, healing, knowledge, and empowerment that is held out east in Calverton, NY. I’m all for attending local fitness and wellness events, and this sounds like it’s right up my alley. I hope to be able to share some highlights on my Instagram Stories!
Remember: Today would have been my good friend’s birthday. Sadly, she passed away in December 2013, but there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of her. She taught me so many life lessons that I now cherish, but I still wish she was here today to see this site and what I have accomplished in my professional career. Ironically, my office is across the street from where she used to work—and where I often would visit her to say hello or bring her a coffee. I can’t help but think of how my days would be so different if she were only a short walk a way. Despite her absence, I know that she is a constant presence in my life and is always watching over me.
What’s on your agenda this month?
