Yes, I know today is Wednesday. But I wanted to share a photo I posted yesterday on Instagram that I took for Susan G. Komen Greater NYC as part of their #TutuTuesday campaign. I was honored to partner with them this year, as my grandmother is a 90-year-old 2x breast cancer survivor (and I’ve also had many friends who have been affected by the disease), so the cause is near and dear to my heart.
When Susan G. Komen reached out to me with the campaign details, I was eager to help them raise awareness for breast cancer. I also couldn’t wait to incorporate this fun pink tutu they sent me into a photo shoot. While this shot may have looked effortless to pull off, it was actually the result of many takes (and also many creative minds to nail down a concept). Judging by the amount of onlookers who stopped to ask what I was doing in a pink tutu and sports bra in the middle of the street (while holding balloons), I’d say this shoot was a success in the raising-awareness-for-breast-cancer category.
I have to give a special shout-out to K-DEER, who sent me the cute pink striped leggings to wear in the photo. K-DEER is an eco-friendly activewear line that gives back to charity—and also my latest obsession. I’ve worn the leggings to a few yoga classes since the shoot, and I absolutely love them. Check out K-DEER, if you’re in the market for new activewear and want to feel good about your purchase.

Glad you enjoyed the post!
Awareness is such a powerful way of making the people you love know and be informed about certain things. I would love to be part of this. I love the pink concept.
