I feel like I’ve been on a friendship kick lately, so here’s yet another post on the subject. I saw this great quote on Instagram the other day and knew that I needed to share it on the blog:
I’ve always felt fortunate to have such amazing people in my life. While a lot of friends have come and gone over the years, the ones that remained have pushed me, encouraged me, and ultimately cheered me on as I slowly came into my own. Life has been quite a journey, but I know that I wouldn’t be the person I am today without the support of friends.
I appreciate strong-minded people. I gravitate towards individuals who are comfortable in their own skin, can offer intellectual stimulation, and yes, push me to be the best version of myself I can be. These friends are the ones who will tell me their honest opinion (even when I haven’t asked) and let me know when I’m wrong (even though I won’t want to hear it). They are my sounding board; they are my inspiration; and they truly make me want to be a better human being just by their own existence.
While I may not have the answer to why certain people come into our lives or how in an instant they can have such a profound effect, I’m grateful for the ones who have touched my life in such a meaningful way.
I couldn’t agree more with this post! I am grateful to have met you through blogging and feel inspired by all your share. Have a great rest of the week Vanessa!
