It’s October 1st, so let the pumpkin pandemonium begin. Don’t ask me why, but I just can’t get into the pumpkin spirit until the first day of the month (and I do love my pumpkins). I will admit—this year I treated myself a little early to a pumpkin donut from Dunkin Donuts…but now that the unofficial wait is over, bring on the pumpkin scones, pumpkin spice lattes, and even pumpkin ice cream (if that’s your thing).
Fall seems to be flying by (and I know, it really just got started), so let’s jump into this month’s agenda:
Go: Well, duh—apple and pumpkin picking seem like obvious agenda items this month, so a trip to The Milk Pail is a must. I’ve been going out to my favorite apple orchard in Water Mill, NY for the past two years, and like my annual trips out to the Hampton Classic Horse Show at the end of August, this has very much become a fall tradition that I look forward to.
Travel: I haven’t shared much about my upcoming trips on the blog, so sorry to spring this on all of you, but I am actually leaving for Europe in t-minus six days! I’m beyond excited to do some sightseeing and spend some time out of the country. The jury is still out on whether there will be posts up on the blog next week and how much I will share on social media, but I will keep you posted on those details later this week. I’ve been feeling a little worn out lately and in need of some downtime. It was a very busy summer for me, and September has also been a bit of a doozy—so this time away is much needed.
But that’s not all…I get back from Europe and just a few short days later, I will be on a plane to Charleston, South Carolina (clearly, planning is not my strong suit). I mentioned this trip back in early September on Instagram and appreciate those of you who reached out and told me some of your favorite things to do and see in the area. I will indeed be sharing highlights from that trip on the blog and Instagram!
Do: I had so much fun running my first 5K over the summer, that I’ve been thinking of trying to squeeze another one in this fall (like, before it gets too cold to run outdoors). There are plenty of local runs on Long Island happening this month, so I guess I better lace up my running shoes (and maybe eat something other than a hot dog before the race, just sayin’).
Visit: The annual Long Island Fall Festival is October 5-8th and complete with live entertainment, a carnival, and of course, lots of food. I went twice last year and had a great time checking out some of the local vendors while enjoying the crisp fall air. I’m hoping that time permits this year and I can stop over on one of the days.
What’s on your agenda this month?
Somehow I missed this post but now I see when you revealed your trip. I sure you will have an amazing time. Don’t have big plans this month. I will live through you!
