Let the countdown to the holidays commence. After my birthday month, this is my favorite time of year. I love to see all of the holiday decorations, the smell of wreaths and Christmas trees, and the sound of carols in the air.
Last weekend, my town had their annual tree lighting and parade, and it did not disappoint. It was a little too early for me to get into the holiday spirit, but now that it is officially December, I am ready.
So, here’s what’s on my agenda this month:
Go: As you probably know by now, I was a figure skater as a kid. I love to get back out on the ice every now and then, and winter seems like the perfect time to do so. This year, I want to skate at one of the rinks in New York City. I tend to skate in enclosed arenas on Long Island, so skating outdoors in the city is high on my list of things to do this month.
Do: While lots of people like to put their Christmas tree up right after Thanksgiving, I prefer to wait until the first or second week of December. I like to keep my tree up until right after the New Year, so having it decorated for a month seems like enough time. Last year, I picked out a much smaller tree than my usual go-to height, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the size (and how much easier it was to manage), so I am aiming to get another small tree this year.
Buy: You may recall that I did a post wearing Ghost Flower Activewear a while back, which incorporates acupressure points into the workout attire. I also became an ambassador for the brand, since I loved their pieces so much. So I wanted to let you in on a great deal. From now through the end of December, you can get 50% off your Ghost Flower purchase with the code LIVINGINSTEIL50. It’s the perfect time to try the brand out for yourself, or to gift to the yoga lover in your life.
See: I have wanted to see a ballet for a while. I remember ‘The Nutcracker’ being one of my favorites as a child, and I think it would be fun to see it again as an adult. Fortunately, there are lots of great renditions of ‘The Nutcracker’ being performed locally on Long Island this month.
What’s on your agenda this month?
Sounds like a wonderful month! Most of the month is driving my kids to all their activities. Getting excited for the break.
