This year, I celebrated Galentine’s Day with one of my closest friends. Yes, you read that right…I said Galentine’s Day. We went for early drinks and dinner after work at one of my favorite restaurants, The Shed, and caught up as we sipped on our two-for-one cocktails. After being under the weather last week and trying to play catch-up this week, it was a great way to spend a Thursday evening. I wasn’t particularly hungry when we sat down for the 5pm special happy hour, so I ordered a calamari appetizer and splurged on dessert…a brownie skillet topped with vanilla ice cream. It was delicious!

For me, Valentine’s Day is every day. I always try to do something that makes an ordinary day feel special—whether it’s stopping at my favorite out-of-the-way coffee place before work for a cappuccino or buying myself the newest beauty product on my list—I fully believe in treating myself…and you should, too. This Valentine’s Day was no exception. Aside from the delicious chocolates I received from my wonderful co-workers, I still felt the need to buy myself flowers while on a Trader Joe’s run. While I’m not a huge flower person, just the act of selecting a bouquet of flowers for myself brightened my day—and it also encouraged me to bring flowers to some special people in my life to brighten up their day, too.
So glad you celebrated Galentine’s Day! Love the blooms and dying over that dessert.

That dessert was amazing, Kathrine. The photo really didn’t do it justice.
