This weekend, I deviated from my normal routine. As much as I love my Saturday morning workout, this weekend I decided to shake it up a bit and actually take both weekend days for myself.
I started my Saturday off by taking myself out to breakfast at Southdown Coffee where I enjoyed a delicious cappuccino and an egg and cheese on a croissant. It’s been a while since I have just sat (sans phone) and people watched.
Later that day, a friend suggested seeing a 1 pm showing of Us, which was on my agenda this month. Honestly, I would have been too scared to see a nighttime showing anyway, so the timing could not have worked out better. While the movie got rave reviews, I was slightly underwhelmed (although the theater with leather reclining seats more than made up for it). I was expecting the movie to be deeper than it was after reading the reviews, but instead, I was left with just another gory horror film with an elaborate plot that took too long to reveal. But I’m still glad that I saw it (and can now cross it off my agenda).
After the movie, we hit up the Library Café, which used to be an old town library before becoming a restaurant. It was the perfect way to end a gorgeous spring Saturday—and it left me feeling like I should change up my weekend routine more often.
Sounds like the perfect weekend! Love this cool bar.
