One of the highlights for me as a blogger has been getting to meet new people. I love connecting with other fellow wellness warriors, bloggers, and entrepreneurs online, but it is even better when I get to meet them #IRL (in real life). I always get such a rush of inspiration from hearing how other people got their start and what they are doing in their careers, and it encourages me to keep on my path in this space.
Over the weekend, I got to meet one of my new followers on Instagram who found my blog while looking for health information. She direct messaged me and we began chatting back and forth. Soon, I learned that we not only shared a similar health story, but that she also lived only a couple of towns away from me. Of course, the natural next step was to meet for coffee, which we did at my favorite local coffee shop on Sunday morning.
After our meeting, it reminded me of why I started blogging in the first place. While it was meant as a cathartic outlet and a place to share my story, it has also been as much a source of inspiration for me as I hope a resource for others. Being an introvert, putting myself out on the Internet did not come naturally. But by doing so, it has allowed me to get more comfortable not only in my own skin, but also with sharing my story with others face-to-face. I’ve been fortunate to have been able to meet so many incredible women who are truly doing amazing things in their personal lives and careers, and I love it when strangers can come together, build each other up, and leave as friends.
