The trip that I booked months ago is finally here! By this time tomorrow, I will be sitting on a beach, with sand beneath my toes, and listening to the sound of the ocean in front of me. Ah, yes, I can hear the Cayman Islands welcoming me already!
Despite having plenty of summer clothes to pack along on the trip (and promising myself I would pack light, since there isn’t much on the itinerary), I still managed to do a little retail therapy at LOFT (I swear, I needed everything I bought).
Want to see which new pieces will be traveling with me? I thought you might. So, here’s the round up:

Drawstring Utility Jacket: This super soft lightweight jacket was something that was actually missing from my wardrobe (although I’m not sure how that oversight happened). It was love at first sight as soon as I felt the fabric and knew that I needed it as a layering piece for summer. This baby will be coming along on the trip to keep me warm on the plane, for sure.

Dotted Pleated Wrap Mini Dress: This beauty immediately caught my eye in the store, but candidly, I didn’t think I could pull the length off. To my surprise, it actually fit nicely and didn’t overwhelm my petite frame. The store only had this dress in regular, so I will have to wait for it to arrive on my doorstep in petite. While it won’t make it in time for my trip to the Caymans, I now know what I will be wearing to the Hampton Classic Horse Show in August.

Tie Waist Wide Leg Pants: These pants are actually for the office, but they are so lightweight and effortless to throw on that they may very well find their way into my suitcase. Dress them up with a blazer or down with a t-shirt and denim jacket, this is a must-have summer staple.

Slim Pocket Skinny Jeans: This was a definite need, as my current white jeans called for an upgrade. And with summer coming, everyone should have a good pair of white jeans in their wardrobe.
See? I didn’t go overboard with the shopping! Oh, but there was a last-minute order of two new swimsuits from LOFT that happened after the creation of this post.
