What could be better than stopping in at a quaint local establishment for breakfast on a beautiful summer day? For the last couple of weeks, I have been visiting Kerber’s Farm in Huntington, NY for a leisurely Sunday breakfast. The cozy farmhouse feel keeps drawing me back, as does the delicious breakfast that has people from as far away as the east end of Long Island making the trek. Even Oprah has Kerber’s Farm on her radar and has named their pies one of her favorite things. After my very first breakfast there I instantly understood all of the praise.

If the lush landscaping and rustic charm don’t do it for you, the menu surely will. Thankfully, there was a long line when I arrived for breakfast, which gave me plenty of time to peruse the menu…and scope out the delicious looking baked goods at the counter.

While deciding on what to eat for breakfast was no easy feat—hello, I’ll take one of everything on your menu—I ended up ordering bacon and eggs on their homemade cheese biscuit…and, of course, an iced coffee.

As my food arrived, I thought the hard decisions were behind me, but figuring out where to sit was also a challenge. Did I want to stay inside and enjoy the greenhouse-like interior, or, outside in the garden with some nosey friends in the form of chickens? I decided to stay inside, but upon my second visit, I made friends with the locals (aka, the chickens, who felt I should share my breakfast with them).
I’ve been back to Kerber’s Farm a few times now and I’m not sure whether I enjoy the food or atmosphere more. It’s hard to believe that this adorable eatery is just minutes from my home when I feel as though I’ve headed to breakfast in the Hamptons.

If Kerber’s Farm is on your itinerary, you really can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. Their iced coffee is my new summer favorite, as is their chocolate chip muffin and egg sandwich. If you’re in the area, go to Kerber’s Farm, even just to spend some time wandering in their garden or chilling with the chickens. It really is the place to be this summer!
