The Fourth of July has come and gone and now it is really time to savor every single summer day on the horizon. Since summer is my favorite time of year, I have taken full advantage of the longer, warmer, and lighter days by heading down to the beach after work to watch a sunset or go for an evening walk. Lately, the weekends have been reserved for time down at the beach, workouts, and morning trips to the farmers market—and I couldn’t be happier about that.
So, what’s on the agenda this month?
Go: The Summer Arts Festival at Heckscher Park in Huntington, NY is in full swing. I’ve already made it to one concert and plan to see my favorite dance trio perform later this week. There are still plenty of musical evenings ahead. So, if you’re local, check out the upcoming concert calendar and plan a visit of your own.
Do: What would a summer be without a little stand up paddle boarding? Once again, this is on my agenda. I love stand up paddle boarding—it’s a full body workout, yet feels somewhat relaxing since you’re on the water. The last couple of times I’ve booked a board, we have had bad storms on Long Island. Here’s hoping the next time comes to fruition.
Join: I am so excited that the book TOUGH: Women Who Survived Cancer will be out on September 17th! I’ve been hard at work finalizing the copy for my survivor chapter (a big thank you to everyone who proofed it again for me this past week). But now, it is all ready to go. Before the book is out, we invite you to join the Share Triumph Conference, a virtual event from August 5 – 15th, in which you will hear from more than 40 cancer survivors, experts, and yours truly as we all come together to discuss cancer and offer tips to cope with a diagnosis or help a loved one through theirs. Click here to register for the FREE virtual event!
Try: Looking for a healthy snack to indulge in this summer? Well, look no further than Hippeas Organic Chickpea Puffs. I have been seeing these snacks make the rounds on Instagram and finally tried a bag when I stopped at Wild By Nature. I picked up the white cheddar flavor to bring to the beach with me and literally ate the bag in one sitting. Thankfully, it was a small bag. But, still. These gluten-free, vegan snacks are delicious, filling, and will be one that you’ll be glad you tried!
What’s on your agenda this month?
This is turning out to be one of the best summers of your life. Thanks for the info on the chips. Always looking for a good snack. Be healthy.
The chips are great. Hope you enjoy them!
