Okay, summer, I really need you to slow down now. While I love August and have tons on the agenda this month, seeing that September is creeping up on us is making me anxious. Since I can’t do anything about the speed of time, I intend to live it up for the rest of the summer and celebrate all of the fun things on my calendar this month.
Go: It’s kind of sad that this month will mark the only time I have gotten out to the East End all summer, but it is true. On Saturday, I will be heading to Serena & Lily in Wainscott, NY for day one of a wellness weekend, which includes a morning workout with The Ness, followed by a panel featuring the co-founder of Sakara Life and the founder of Indie Lee Skincare. After that, there will be some shopping with Grey State Apparel, manicures and pedicures from TenOverTen, Credo Beauty’s clean summer bar cart, and snacks from Sakara Life. I’m excited to meet some other Long Island wellness professionals and am looking forward to this event.
Shop: If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I got some new bling this week courtesy of Stephanie Occhipinti Designs. I met Stephanie a few years back at the Art League of Long Island during one of their fairs and instantly fell in love with her unique pieces. Stephanie was kind enough to gift me these stunning stackable knot rings in yellow gold, rose gold, and silver and I haven’t taken them off since. It was such a thoughtful gesture and these three bands mean so much to me. I’ll be sharing more about these bands and Stephanie’s pieces in a post next week, but if you’re on Long Island, visit Stephanie this weekend (August 3rd and 4th) at the Mary O. Fritchie Art Show On The Great Lawn in Westhampton, NY.
Hear: It’s time for my favorite concert of the year! The Long Island Philharmonics are performing tomorrow night as part of the Huntington Arts Council’s Summer Arts Festival at Heckscher Park. This is the one concert that I clear my calendar for and this year is no exception. They always give such an incredible performance and I am just counting down the minutes until tomorrow night. Check out the calendar for upcoming performances before the festival ends on Sunday, August 11th.
Do: Later today, I’m speaking with a New Jersey-based oncologist who is also the host of the Interlude podcast where she shares women’s cancer stories. I am honored to talk about my thyroid cancer diagnosis with her and her audience, and will post more about it when the episode is going to air.
See: Of course, no summer would be complete without at least a day at The Hampton Classic Horse Show, one of the world’s largest outdoor equestrian competitions, in Bridgehampton, NY. This year, the show will run from August 25th – September 1st. If you’re looking for a fun day trip, head out for breakfast at Hampton Coffee before stopping at the Hampton Classic to watch these amazing horse and rider duos compete in hunter, jumper, equitation, and Grand Prix classes. Then enjoy some shopping at the show grounds and a late lunch to complete your East End outing.
Our Share Triumph Virtual Conference starts on Monday, August 5th and I am beyond excited. Hear from yours truly and 40 other inspiring cancer survivors, advocates, and doctors, who will tell you everything you need to know about cancer treatment and how to adopt a positive mindset during and after a cancer diagnosis. You can tune in to my session on Wednesday, August 7th at 4:00 pm EST. To register for the conference, click here.
