Well, the Yoga + Brunch Club, Long Island has found a way to incorporate my two favorite activities into one heck of a fun way to spend a morning! On Sunday, I was fortunate enough to be invited to the last event that the Yoga + Brunch Club was hosting for the season (although, shhh, I heard they may have something planned this fall, but you didn’t hear that from me).
To celebrate the last official day of summer, I headed to The Clubhouse, located on the South Shore of Long Island and nestled right along the water in Bellmore, for a morning of restorative yoga and brunch, all while enjoying great views of the scenic canal. The Clubhouse was the perfect venue to host a pop-up yoga event—complete with sand and palm trees and plenty of island décor to make you think you traded Long Island for the tropics. The restaurant itself has views of the water from almost every angle, making it the perfect summer hangout spot (things to remember for summer 2020, for sure).

Upon arrival at The Clubhouse, I claimed my spot in the sand for my mat before perusing the various local vendors that were selling their items at the event. I always love supporting local Long Island merchants and was thrilled that the Yoga + Brunch Club included some of my favorites, like Island Rose Designs and also new-to-me vendors like Mockingbird Wings, which offered unique creations and fair trade items.

Our yoga class began at 10:00 am with a gentle flow vinyasa. It was just what this slightly-out-of-shape yogini needed, and after my book launch party in Brooklyn the night before, it was the perfect way to start off my Sunday. The 45-minute yoga class was enough of a workout to help me build up an appetite and be ready for brunch, which was served promptly as class ended.

After a workout, who doesn’t love a good brunch? Our complimentary brunch came with either a mimosa or Bloody Mary (I opted for the former), which was included with the ticket for the event. The Clubhouse has quite the brunch menu, so deciding on what to eat was no easy feat. I felt that since I had just worked out the avocado toast would be a wise choice, but then I saw there were waffles on the menu with fresh fruit and my decision was made. I sipped on my mimosa and enjoyed my brunch while taking in the beautiful views of the canal and marveling at how perfect the weather was on the last day of summer.
Once brunch was over, it was time to select a few raffle winners before the event concluded (oh, did I mention that you also get two raffle tickets and the opportunity to win some amazing prizes when you register for the event?). I actually won a beautiful bracelet from You N I Can, a company that promotes products that are made in the United States and are socially conscious and philanthropic.

The Yoga + Brunch Club event at The Clubhouse was one of the best I have attended. It was such a relaxing way to spend a Sunday morning and by the time I left, I was already looking forward to their next event. So, if you’re looking for something fun to do, grab your girlfriends and get tickets to the next event they have. You’ll feel like you went on a mini-retreat and maybe even find a new favorite hangout spot!
Thank you, Yoga + Brunch Club, LI for offering me a complimentary ticket to attend the event!
