Well, the trip that I booked a month ago is finally here! And while everyone keeps asking me if I’m excited (which, of course, the answer is yes), I’m feeling a little stressed as I try to cross everything off a still lengthy to-do list in less than 72 hours. On a positive note, by Monday I will be in full vacay mode—which means not answering emails or responding to texts, and limiting my time on social media.
Although fall technically just began, I feel like the last month brought some frenetic energy with it. The past 30 days were a steady stream of craziness (with equally hectic weekends, too), resulting in sleepless nights and poor eating habits. This trip could not have come at a better time. Even though the weather in Europe at the moment is looking less than ideal, I have brought along lots of books, magazines, and podcasts that I haven’t had a chance to listen to, to keep me occupied on those cool and rainy indoor days. Mainly, I’m looking forward to unplugging and being exposed to new sights and places, being in nature, taking lots of photos, and just enjoying my time out of the office..and the country.
I think in a society where being on the go 24/7 is the norm, it’s so important to check in with yourself and take time to recharge. Sometimes just being in a different locale is all you need to shift your mindset and come back refreshed and rejuvenated.
If you want to know what I’m up to for the next two weeks, you can keep up with my adventures on my Instagram Stories. I’ll be back on the blog with a new post on Monday, October 21st.
In the meantime, Bon Voyage!
