Did anyone else feel like January was the longest month ever? I certainly did. While I finally got around to putting away my holiday cards, I may still have a holiday-themed pillow or two floating around in my living room. But the start of a new month means that there are more things on the agenda to look forward to.
So, here’s what I have going on this month:
Go: Last month, Caylei, from Cancer Wellness Magazine paid me a visit when she was in New York for business. It’s always nice to connect with some of my followers in real life, so I was thrilled when she reached out and said she was in town. If you’re unfamiliar, Cancer Wellness Magazine is a beautiful read that’s filled with health and wellness tips and lots of lifestyle content. Caylei and I were initially introduced through a mutual friend, who also happens to be a cancer survivor, and thought that we should connect. When Caylei was visiting New York, she invited me to the AnaOno Fashion Show benefiting METAvivor, which will take place this weekend. For the fourth year in a row, AnaOno is partnering with #Cancerland during New York Fashion Week and will be bridging the gap between early and late-stage breast cancer patients in a breast cancer fashion show called #fearLESS. I am honored to attend this event and am looking forward to meeting the models, who are all breast cancer patients, survivors, or thrivers. If you would like to support the event, click here.
Hear: When I turned 30 a few years ago, a friend surprised me with concert tickets to hear Fitz & The Tantrums at The Paramount in Huntington, NY. You may recall that a few years ago, their top hit was a catchy tune called “Handclap.” So, when I saw on The Paramount’s website that the group was performing once again in town, I immediately bought tickets. Their performance is like a non-stop dance party, so it is sure to be a fun evening.
Do: With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I feel like some self-care is in order. While scrolling through Instagram one day, I came across a post at the Sojo Spa in Edgewater, NJ. The spa, which offers day passes to use the facilities in addition to facials, massages, and the standard spa offerings overlooks the Manhattan skyline. I couldn’t think of a better day trip than this! If you have rest and relaxation on your mind, check out their Instagram from some very swoon-worthy images.
Try: Looking for a fun workout that will make you sweat? Give a FlexIR class at Flex Studios a try. The infrared mat Pilates class is one of my favorite workouts, so I was excited when I saw that my local Flex Studios added more of my beloved classes to their schedule. I loved every minute of the heated mat Pilates class I recently took and am looking forward to adding the class back into to my regular workout routine. There is something about working out in a heated room when the outside air temperature is chilly that is even more of a motivation to go to class!
