Of all the things I stocked up on in the pre-pandemic days, I’d have to say that I was most proud of having enough makeup and skincare products to last me a couple of months…because that’s how long I initially thought the quarantine would last. But now, at almost three months of being home, I’m starting to run low on some of my most used and loved products (I should also add that I am one of those people that despite working from home still insists on doing their hair and makeup every day).
One thing I’ve recently noticed about online shopping is that once you start, it’s hard to stop. Makeup, check…new sneakers from Sperry, sure, I need those, too. Call me old fashion, but I still prefer walking into a store and getting what I need. Since that’s not exactly possible at the moment, I’ll have to make do with frequenting my favorite retailers via the Internet and patiently awaiting the arrival of my purchases on my doorstep. The good news about placing many different orders is that every day feels like Christmas and you never know quite what you’re going to get.
So, let’s dive into my recent purchases, some of which I’ve mentioned in The June Agenda:
Supergoop Glowscreen: I’m not one for sunscreen (I know, that’s bad). So when I find a brand I love, I buy it (and stick with it). A few years ago, I started using the Supergoop mist sunscreen and loved that it had Vitamin C in it and it felt as though I had nothing on my skin. After reading tons of reviews about Supergoop’s Glowscreen (and after one very bad burn on my face), I ordered it in anticipation of lots of time in the sun these next few weeks.
Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm: This item was on my wish list for much longer than I’d like to admit, but it’s finally mine. After running out of my last lip balm, I splurged on this much-smaller-than-I-thought-it-would-be lip butter balm. But, so far, I’m impressed. It gives my lips a glossy look but is super hydrating and the vanilla scent makes it hard to resist reapplying it a million times a day.
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation: Ahhh, what can I say about this foundation other than I love it? I’ve been using it for years now, and while the shade may have changed, my devotion to this foundation never will. I’ve tried countless foundations on the market (like, literally, too many to count), and the Sheer Glow is hands down the best one for my skin type. It offers medium buildable coverage and leaves my skin with that sheer dewy glow that’s perfect for summer…or really any time of year. This is one foundation that you can wear all-year-round without feeling like you need to swap it out for something lighter in the summer months. And since I love NARS so much, and seem to be going through makeup at warp speed, I ordered an extra tube of the Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer to use on those no-makeup, makeup days.
In non-makeup news, I also ordered this swimsuit and this one from Athleta ahead of my upcoming trip to Montauk.
