The first month of a new year is always filled with a mix of emotions—hope, excitement, and even a little trepidation about what’s to come. As I begin to execute some of my 2021 goals, I’m feeling grateful for the oddly warm January days that we’ve had that have allowed me to continue to take long beach walks. I’m also thankful that we’ve had relatively little snow so far this winter!
So, as I ease into this first month of 2021, here’s what I have on my agenda:
Go: I’ve been working from home for the last ten months now, which I’ve enjoyed more than I thought I would. But turning a small apartment into a space that can also double as an office has not been easy. So, when I can take a long weekend either on Long Island or somewhere in New York, I’m ready to go. This weekend, I’m heading to Beacon, NY, which is just over an hour from Long Island for a much-needed change of scenery. I came across this post while I was scrolling the Internet for information on the area and decided to stay at the Roundhouse, a historic property that has tons of charm and plenty of scenic views. Aside from the hotel, I’m looking forward to visiting Dia:Beacon, which houses a collection of art from the 1960s to the present day. Be sure to follow my little getaway on Instagram Stories…and keep your fingers crossed for good weather!
Buy: My credit card has been getting quite a workout lately, but it’s all for a good cause. I recently purchased the newest product in the Summer Fridays family, the Cloud Dew Oil-Free Gel Cream that contains three types of hyaluronic acid. So far, I’ve been using it twice a day for about a week and love how hydrated and plump my skin feels. The gel is super lightweight and doesn’t leave my skin greasy, which is a win-win. I’ll update you more after I’ve used the product a bit longer, but so far, this gel cream has been a welcomed addition to my daily routine.
Read: For Christmas, my friend gifted me the book, Chakra Healing: A Beginner’s Guide to Self-Healing Techniques that Balance the Chakras. I’ve enjoyed my holistic health sessions where I’ve learned about my chakras and which ones were out of alignment (hello, throat chakra). If you’re unfamiliar, chakras receive and send energy in the body, which can affect nearby organs. The seven chakras are considered to be the main energy centers of the body. Learning how to support the chakras can help promote overall health and wellbeing. I’m looking forward to reading more about how to support my chakras, as well as learn how I can help my charkas be in alignment.
