I always feel a certain kind of summertime sadness when Labor Day Weekend arrives and the calendar rolls around to September. It doesn’t matter how long I have been out of school, there will always be something about September that screams back-to-school time to me. So while there are still officially a few weeks left before the arrival of fall, in my mind, we are already there.
This summer certainly brought its fair share of challenges starting with cleaning out my grandmother’s condo of 20+ years to being sidelined with COVID for many weeks. But somewhere around mid-July, I began to feel like myself again.
While this summer didn’t have as many trips out east or beach time as I would have liked, I found so much clarity this season. From hiring my first business coach to finally updating this site, I feel like I have a better sense of where I want to be in life (and how to get there). I am forever indebted to my newfound community of creative entrepreneurs who have helped me gain confidence and inspired me to think outside the box.
As we head into Labor Day Weekend, I am looking forward to what is ahead of me and feeling grateful for everything I accomplished over the summer—even if it wasn’t the summer I thought it would be. Sometimes, the best things happen when all our plans fall apart.
Hope everyone has a happy and safe Labor Day Weekend!
