Over the years, I’ve been many things for Halloween. There was the unicorn in 2018, the alter ego in 2019, the Zoom-bie in 2020, and the aging equestrian in 2021. For whatever reason, I have enjoyed Halloween more as an adult than I ever did as a kid. But I admit, the fun and games of the holiday are a bit lost on me this year.
After spending the past week scrambling to get all the required documents for my grandmother’s Medicaid application in on time, I realized that the only thing scarier than Halloween…is being a millennial caregiver. So, this year, I’m letting life imitate art and showing what it’s really like to be a caregiver who juggles multiple responsibilities at once.
