We are halfway through the first month of 2023, and I’m just getting around to writing about what I have on my agenda this month. That pretty much tells you how my month is going so far. The first couple of weeks of this month were met with a few setbacks, for lack of a better word. But I am trying to remain hopeful that things will settle down. Aside from all that, I’ve been easing into this new year and taking time to rest and recharge when I can.
Here’s what’s on my agenda for the remainder of the month:
Go: One thing that has brought me a lot of joy this month has been my time in the saddle. I’ve been able to ride consistently these last few weeks (despite the frigid temps), and I have more riding days coming up. Since returning to riding in March 2022 after a long break, I am happy to report that I am in much better shape and am now able to ride multiple horses a day (without feeling like I’m going into cardiac arrest). I look forward to all the time I’m getting to spend down at the barn these days, and it is one way that I practice self-care as a busy entrepreneur and caregiver.
Do: The other thing that is keeping me very busy nowadays is working on building my boutique communications agency specializing in social media, public relations, and advocacy campaigns for mission-driven people, brands, and organizations. I’m fortunate to be working with some great clients in the healthcare and advocacy space, but I still have room in my roster for one or two more. If that’s you, reach out! I’m enjoying being my own boss and utilizing my decade of experience in the social media and public relations world to help others build their brands and organizations.
Visit: January is Thyroid Awareness Month, and I am excited to be partnering with a great company that helps patients take control of their thyroid health. As a 10-year thyroid cancer survivor, it’s important to me that people have a better understanding of how the thyroid gland functions and the important role it serves in the body. Check out my Instagram tomorrow, where I’ll be announcing something you’re definitely going to want to get in on!
Attend: If you’ve been a regular reader around here for a while, you know that telling my story is a big part of this site and my life…and I’m always looking for new ways to share it. You might also know that professional development is important to me as well. So, I’m looking forward to attending a virtual health writing seminar later this month hosted by The Philadelphia Inquirer that’s about telling your health story. If this is a topic that interests you as well, you can learn more and register to attend the event, too.
