For a long time, I’ve wanted to get another piercing. I got my ears pierced when I was a kid (and I don’t remember the experience), and I got another piercing when I was 16. But, in my adult life, I consider myself a member of the Proud Boring Person™️ club. That is until I started seeing friends get a second piercing later in life and decided the time was right for me, too.
Yesterday my local Flex Studios hosted a piercing party with Ali Weiss Jewelry. After much internal debate, it felt like the stars were aligned for me to finally get a second ear piercing. I made an early morning appointment, and was not entirely sure what to expect from the experience. But I’m happy to report that it was quick and painless. Before arriving for my appointment, I perused Ali Weiss’ website to see some of the pieces that might appear at this piercing pop-up, but looking at everything sparkle in person was amazing. I chose the baby double bar stud and then took a seat to have dots drawn to show me where the earrings would be placed. A few minutes after that, my new piercings were done. It took all of about 5 minutes and was way less painful than I was expecting it to be. Aside from some minor throbbing immediately after, my new piercings are fairing well.
I’m glad I went with studs that I will want to wear for a long time since it will be a while before I can change the piercing. But I can’t wait to start shopping to complete my new ear party!

I wish I had known. I want another earring in each year.
