Ah, spring is finally in the air. The weather is warming up, flowers are blooming, and the time has come to put more outdoor activities on the agenda again. While I usually reserve my excitement about the warmer days until May, something about having a mild winter has made me feel like it’s already been spring for a while. I’ve been taking full advantage of the days we’ve had and have been getting outside for a sanity stroll almost daily.
With the days staying lighter longer and the warmer weather approaching, here’s what I have on my agenda this month:
Go: I’m heading back to Park Slope, Brooklyn to really explore the neighborhood this time. I’ve been there a couple of times already, and every time I go, the weather is terrible. Fingers crossed the third time will be a charm, and I can check out some of the outdoor markets and walk through the quaint streets to see the rows of old brownstones. So far, my itinerary for the day will involve an outdoor workout, followed by a trip to the market and then a stop at a new-to-me coffee shop.
Register: I’m so excited to finally share that I am hosting a panel on the role of millennials in the caregiving crisis during this year’s CancerCon presented by Stupid Cancer. CancerCon brings together young adult patients, survivors, advocates, and health professionals to learn, share, and build community. The digital event runs from April 16-30 and registration is now open. But if you’re interested in attending my panel, it will be on Tuesday, April 25 at 6 pm EST. I’ll be sharing more around what I’ll be talking with my co-panelists about soon!
Attend: This week, I’m attending a virtual reunion that my business coach, Diana Davis, is hosting. She holds these mixers quarterly, and I’ve found them to be a great way to meet other creative entrepreneurs that she’s worked with from all over the world. I’ve said this before, but one of the best investments I’ve ever made was working with a business coach before I launched my business. While I’m not currently in one of Diana’s programs, we’re still in regular contact, and I know that she is only a DM away. But her community has truly been the best gift, and I love hearing everyone’s updates and finding ways that we can support each other on our journeys.
Plan: I’m feeling like a little getaway is in order. The last few months have been go…go…go, and I could use a little R&R. One of my favorite places to go is Scribner’s Lodge up in the Catskills. I love that it’s a quick drive from Long Island and that once I’m there, I never have to leave my room (think amazing views, very well-appointed rooms, plus an incredible restaurant on site). The last time I visited, it was snowing, so I would love to see the area in the spring and explore the little town and my surroundings.
