As an adult returning to riding, my equestrian style has changed over the years. Gone are the days of riding in a polo shirt and jeans with chaps, and in are the new and improved stylish riding leggings in a luxurious feeling fabric. I quite like the equestrian apparel of today. The fit is better than the loose baggy beige breeches of days past, and there are more options for petite frames. My riding apparel could give my work outfits a run for the money, and most importantly, they can do double duty and be used for other athletic pursuits.
But my love for a good equestrian-inspired theme doesn’t stop with what I wear to the barn. I have incorporated it into my everyday look, and I thought I would share a few equine elements that I love, and work whether you’re an equestrian or not.

Hanna Crossbody Bag: I bought this bag from Stylish Equestrian about a year ago and was only bringing it out on special occasions. But today, it has turned into my everyday bag. I love that it came with multiple adjustable straps, has a lot of room inside for my phone, wallet, and other miscellaneous items, and well, it’s stylish. I have gotten compliments on this bag wherever I go, and it can easily go from brunch to the barn (as evidenced by the photo above).

Coach Loafers: I bought these shoes last year when I was returning to office life. I wanted something that I could slip into and that would be comfortable enough to wear all day. These shoes fit the bill. The leather is so soft that I didn’t even have to break them in. Plus, they easily go with a pair of slacks to dress up a work look or can be worn with jeans or a dress.

Equisite Valentina Shirt: I’ve spent a lot of time searching for the perfect white short sleeve shirt. Who knew that I would finally find it from an equestrian apparel brand? This shirt is from Equisite Elements of Style and is intended to be a riding shirt. But the fit is so nice that I could easily see wearing it out and about in my regular life. Equisite’s pieces are beautifully designed using high-quality fabrics and can elevate an everyday look or a riding look.

Free Ride Bit Belt: This belt from Free Ride Equestrian has quickly become a favorite to complete my riding outfit of the day. It’s elastic and adjustable, plus you can monogram it (which I did, of course). I love this piece so much that I will be ordering a couple more in different colors soon.
