Well, summer seems to have escalated quickly over here. One minute we were enjoying the refreshing spring-like temps and the next, it felt like summer overnight. Since I love the heat, I’m not complaining, but a little notice would have been nice, am I right?
This week, I took a road trip to Philadelphia for my first professional videography gig. While I’ve worked with producers in some of my previous roles, it was nice to get a little more experience behind the camera. Who knows, this just may end up becoming a new offering for In Steil Creative!
Now that it’s June and it feels like the summer is in full swing, here’s what I have on my agenda this month:
Go: While I just returned from Philadelphia, I have another visit on my calendar in just a few weeks. Staying in City Center was a great choice, as there were plenty of restaurants to choose from that were a short walk from the hotel. My personal favorites were Urban Farmer and Victory Brewing Company (I highly recommend their beers and may have even brought a case home). But I received so many other recommendations from my followers on Instagram that I can’t wait to head back and try some more new places.
Visit: One of my favorite things about summer (aside from the beach, of course) are the horse shows that take place on Long Island and all over the East Coast. One of the upcoming local shows is at Old Field Farm in Setauket, New York, a historic show ground that’s been undergoing renovations over the past few years. It also happens to be conveniently located right across the street from West Meadow Beach, so it’s the best of both worlds for me. I’m looking forward to attending a few of their shows as a spectator this summer, and perhaps even helping out some of my barn mates who are competing.
Celebrate: This month, I’m celebrating ten years as a thyroid cancer survivor. I can’t believe how much time has passed and also how much my life has changed since I heard the words, “You have cancer.” I’m grateful to everyone who has supported me on my journey and who has followed along through my site and social media platforms. I’m still thinking about what I should do to celebrate the milestone, so please leave some suggestions in the comments below if you have any ideas.
