When it comes to my makeup routine, I find that the fewer products I use, the better for my skin—especially during the summer months. And when it comes to the products themselves, I like to invest in ones with quality ingredients that won’t aggravate my sensitive skin.
Over the years, I’ve amassed an impressive roster of product trials in both the skincare and beauty departments. Some I’ve loved instantly. While others took a while for me to get on board with. And then there were those that just clearly weren’t a good match. So, when I ran out of my NARS tinted moisturizer that my skin and I both seemed to love, and couldn’t find its replacement in the shade I’d been using either online or in any local store, I was devastated. After many unproductive searches, I finally gave in to the fact that I was going to *gasp* have to switch my makeup and find a new brand. I did what I usually do when these things happen—started reading reviews of other similar lightweight makeups to try.
That’s when I landed on the brand Saie and their line of clean, award-winning products that are sustainable and conscious of the planet. The reviews all seemed to be glowing, so why not give it a try?
Their Slip Tint tinted moisturizer almost immediately won me over when I tested out the color and consistency on my wrist. A few minutes later, I went to their website while still standing in the aisle at Sephora and quickly used their shade finder to ensure that the one I picked was indeed my true match. And it was! Next, I grabbed their creamy, tinted Glow Sculpt highlighter to complete the look. After testing out the products in the store, I was beginning to see why everyone was raving about this brand. But the real test would come when I applied the products to my skin and went about my day wearing them.

That time came the next morning as I prepared to start my week and had a busy day of meetings ahead. I prepped my face with my normal skincare routine, which involves applying the Youth to the People Vitamin C and Caffeine Energy Serum. After giving it a few minutes to absorb into my skin, I applied a thin layer of the Slip Tint (in shade Three + Half). I was impressed with how well it blended into my skin and that it didn’t leave my skin feeling greasy (which has been a problem for me with some other clean brands). Then I applied the multi-use cream highlighting blush on my cheeks and as an eye shadow. It, too, blended well and wasn’t overly glittery.
Initially, I thought the Slip Tint shade I ended up with might be too light for everyday summertime wear, but it proved ideal and even held up well on my skin throughout the day. I’m not sure I’ve ever had a shade that matched my skin tone so flawlessly as this one does. Combined with ingredients that hydrate, brighten, and refine skin—plus offer SPF protection—it’s pretty clear why this product was awarded Best Clean Tinted Moisturizer. Oh, and the glow from this product is amazing—even before applying the Glow Sculpt highlighter.
I’ve been using these products for about a week now, and I can honestly say that I am in no rush to take my makeup off at the end of the day (something I never used to say before). My skin looks and feels so radiant with the Slip Tint on, and I feel better knowing that I’m applying clean products to my skin while also protecting it from sun damage and free radicals. Don’t you just love when it’s a win-win?
Stay tuned for more skincare products I’m loving for summer!
