Last week, I highlighted some new-to-me makeup products I’m loving for glowing summer skin. And while my face is happy with the newest additions, the rest of my body felt neglected. To remedy that, another trip to Sephora was in order, this time with skincare in mind.

Nécessaire’s The Body Wash: I’d seen this body wash making the rounds on Instagram many times, and honestly, I never quite got the obsession…until I tried it for myself. My go-to had been the Salt & Stone Antioxidant Body Wash, that while I didn’t love the price tag, everything else about it made it a worthwhile investment. Unfortunately, having to always order it online became a hassle, so I Googled some other fan favorites to see if I could find a suitable alternative. Not surprisingly, Nécessaire’s The Body Wash was consistently among the top picks. So, I stopped at my local Sephora, where even the girl who helped me in the store raved about the brand. After using it once, I finally understood what all the hype was about. The eucalyptus scent was refreshing, and the body wash, infused with Niacinamide, Glycerin, and Marula Oil, felt hydrating and nourishing on my skin.

Sun Bum Premium Moisturizing Sunscreen Lotion: I think it’s fair to say that the dermatologist drilled the importance of sun protection and sunscreen into me during my whole body skin check exam last month. With that in mind, I decided this was a good time to upgrade my sunscreen (which had expired sometime between last summer and now). I first found Sun Bum when I was vacationing in the Cayman Islands a few years back. I had made sure to bring ample bottles of sunscreen with me, but after two straight days at the beach, the four bottles I had brought were depleted. I swiftly made my way over to the nearest hotel gift shop, where I found over-priced bottles of Sun Bum for sale. The scent of this sunscreen still reminds me of my trip and has become my go-to brand. I typically opt for the spray formula, but after the lecture from my dermatologist, I decided to try the lotion to ensure that I adequately apply enough to my whole body. Unlike other brands, Sun Bum dries quickly and doesn’t leave my skin greasy after application, so it makes me more prone to reapply it throughout the day.
Kosas Plump + Juicy Lip Booster: While this is not technically a new product for me, it’s one that I use daily. Aside from the fun packaging and branding colors, this lip booster has fixed my chronically dry lips. It’s the perfect blend between a lip balm and a gloss without feeling too sticky. And while I don’t see a major difference in the plumpness of my lips from this product, I can say that it has helped soothe and soften the texture. I use this lip booster many times throughout the day when I need a little extra hydration but am not looking to apply color, and it has become a staple in every bag I own.
