The goal of the week for me has been just to get by. But with emotions running high, even that has been a challenge. Each morning, I think about how I need to structure my day in order to make it home in time to see my grandmother. And still, when the clock hits 5:45 pm, I feel like I need to be preparing for my nightly visits at the nursing home. For so long, this has been my daily routine, and it’s proving a hard one to break.
While I find writing blog posts to be a cathartic outlet, going to the barn each day and embracing the quiet while on horseback has helped me cope the most.
Here’s how I incorporated honoring my grandmother with taking a little time for myself this week:

{This rose bush at the barn reminded me of how much my grandmother loved flowers}

{Grateful for these two—my emotional support animals this week}

{Also thankful for my two-legged community and all of the support they’ve provided}
