The fall weather has officially arrived, and that means a little more time spent at home curled up with a good book, leisurely mornings that include lots of self-care, and trying more sweet pumpkin treats. Aside from all the fun decor, something I always love about fall is what I call the start of “Pumpkin Pandemonium,” as in when all things pumpkin hit shelves.
Here are a few other things that I’ve been loving lately:

My Self-Care Routine: I’ve had a little downtime recently, which I used to try out some new products in my self-care routine. On my latest trip to Sephora, I purchased these Peter Thomas Roth 24K gold hydra-gel eye patches, and not only do they look nice, but they feel even better on. I had been running on a sleep deficit for a few days, and it showed under my eyes. After using these patches, my undereyes looked noticeably firmer and less puffy. I’d say it was a win-win!

My Reading List: Naturally, my reading list is full of spooky stories this month, including from my client and friend, Kerriann Flanagan Brosky’s book, Haunted Long Island Mysteries. While I loved her Historic Crimes of Long Island and Historic Haunts of Long Island books, this one is especially gripping given that I’ve been to a few of the locations mentioned in the book. If you’re a Long Islander, I highly suggest getting her books (and visiting her website to see where she will be giving her Haunted Long Island Mysteries lecture this month).
While keeping on the spooky theme, I also started reading The Baker’s Ghost by Gerard Fioravanti, who owns Fiorello Dolce Patisserie in Huntington Village. The book features true stories from the bakery’s haunted past and the paranormal activity that happens as people go about their day in the bakery. Again, this is a must-read, if you’re into local history and paranormal activity!

My (New) Decor: One of the things I’ve wanted to do for a while was create a hat wall in my living room. For starters, it would give my hats from Equisite Elements of Style and Wyeth a safe place to be stored when not in use, and it also adds a nice decorative flare to my living room. Since the hats are lightweight, I picked up a pack of 3M Command damage-free hanging hooks at my local Target, followed the simple instructions to adhere them to my wall, and voilà, my hat wall was complete. It was such an easy transformation, and I am so glad that I finally did it (and that my hats have somewhere to be prominently displayed).

My Go-To Treat: When I saw that Tate’s Bake Shop, a Southampton favorite, released seasonal pumpkin spice cookies, there was no way I wasn’t bringing home a bag to try. If you’re like me and love everything pumpkin, you need to go out and find yourself these cookies (I found them at my local Wild By Nature). They are the perfect pumpkin spice and white chocolate ratio. Trust me, you’ll thank me later!
