I hope everyone had a happy Halloween! Ironically, it wasn’t until I became an adult that I started enjoying Halloween. But now, I love the holiday (and watching Reels on Instagram showcasing some seriously creative people doing their Halloween makeup tutorials). My other favorite thing about Halloween (aside from the fact that you can pretty much eat as many sweets as you want) is seeing how my neighborhood transforms. Taking my sanity stroll every day is much more fun when I’m greeted by gigantic skeletons and spider webs on my walk.
Since I no longer work in an office, my Halloween costume this year was simpler than in years past. I decided to center my look around my equestrian roots and went as a…ghost rider (perhaps inspired by working with one of my clients). While I would have loved to do a ghost horse theme, this horse would not have enjoyed participating in the look. So, I opted to go in costume solo instead. I took a short clip of us walking out of the barn (and, thankfully, the horse cooperated since I couldn’t see out the sheet as I walked him), and I found the perfect ghost-themed audio to accompany the Reel. In a matter of minutes, and with the help of a white sheet, sunglasses, and my trusty self-timer on my iPhone, I had my Halloween look for 2023 down…and made some fun content for my Instagram page, too.
