While November brings around shorter days, colder temps, and changing leaves, it also makes me one year older, as I celebrate my 37th birthday this year. Each time this month rolls around, I find myself happy and usually looking forward to celebrating my birthday for as long as I can. But as I get older, it seems like birthdays go by faster and faster. And in full transparency, after losing my grandmother in June, I’m not much in the mood for celebrations of any kind this year (which, if you know how I feel about my birthday, is saying a lot).
So, as this month brings another trip around the sun, it also marks moving on from sad events from the past year. Here are a few things I have on my November agenda:
Go: All summer long, I indulged in Forward Space classes when they were out east at The Barn in Bridgehampton. While I normally wouldn’t venture into the city just for a workout class, I feel like I need some good dance vibes in my life right now. I’ve been perusing their current Soho class schedule, and as soon as my calendar allows, I’m booking!
Do: One thing I’m looking forward to later this month is the ‘Billy Joel – My Life, A Piano Man’s Journey’ exhibit, opening Thanksgiving weekend at the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame in Stony Brook. Growing up on Long Island, Billy Joel is a local legend. So, when I found out about this exhibit, I knew it was something I wanted to see and cover on the blog. Stay tuned for a whole Billy Joel experience coming soon!
Get: Last year, I went for my first HydraFacial when I stayed at Gurney’s out in Montauk, and it was a game-changer for my skin. I always struggle with acne, scarring, and redness, and this HydraFacial cleared up a lot of my issues. Plus, it was gentle enough on my skin and didn’t leave me too red afterward. I had promised myself that I would make getting a facial part of my skincare routine, but I didn’t want to do it too often. Now that it’s a year later, I’m on the hunt for a local place to do the treatment. It’s an investment, but one that I think is worth it!
Buy: While I might not be up for my usual birthday celebration in Montauk this year, I did treat myself to something that I had been eyeing for a while—a new Coach tote bag. Now that I carry my laptop around often, I needed a tote that was large enough to accommodate it and some other personal items. When I spotted this bag, I knew I had found the one!
What’s on your agenda this month?
