Celebrating has been on my mind a lot this week. But this time, I’m not here to talk about celebrating my birthday (which will continue throughout the rest of November). Instead, let’s chat about celebrating ourselves all year long, like when things go right in our lives—we finish a big project, get a promotion, or land a new client. This is something I can get on board with, and in my opinion, something we can all do a bit more of ourselves.
For the last few months, I have really focused on my business. As the grief has settled a bit, I found myself putting that energy into landing new clients and finding more solopreneurs to work with who light me up. I credit my business coach, Diana Davis, for helping to light a fire under me, but I also have felt clearer about my offerings, the types of entrepreneurs and businesses I want to work with, and how to find them. And the results have been amazing. I went from feeling stuck to a place where what I put out in the Universe came true.
Here’s a perfect example. Just last week, I was having a networking call with someone who asked me about myself and my background. We were casually chatting, and I mentioned some projects that I was passionate about working on in the future. I also mentioned who my ideal dream client would be. We both ended the call feeling inspired by the conversation. Then, just this week, I landed an interview for a role that ticked a lot of boxes. And in minutes, I landed exactly who I said out loud would be my ideal client. Coincidence? I think not!
The Universe has a funny way of giving us what we want when we’re ready for it (or not giving it to us because it isn’t for us). I never used to think like this, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to not only trust myself but trust that what’s meant for me will find me. To be honest, a few months ago, I would not have been ready for this kind of expansion in my business. I was stuck in my grieving process and needed time to sort through that before I could return, ready to run and scale my business.
How we celebrate these achievements is also important. Do we tell only our closest family and friends? Or do we shout it from the rooftops? Or do we do a mix of both? The Universe has felt my energy lately and I feel re-energized in a new way to get down to business. So, while I’m immensely grateful to the Universe for answering me, I’m also grateful to myself for pushing ahead and putting out there what I want in my own life. And that type of clarity is worth celebrating!
