What do you do when the perfect dress for Memorial Day arrives right before the start of the long holiday weekend? Try it on and make a Reel in it, of course! When I spotted this dress at my local Loft before I went away last month, I knew it was something I would order when I got home. The Chevron Open Stitch Sweater Tank Dress is the perfect nautical-inspired dress for summer…and is on major sale at the moment.
Despite the name, the knit sweater tank dress is lightweight, comfy, and ideal for summer styling. I paired it with my Wyeth hat, Loft denim jacket, and the new sandals I bought from Target right before my trip. The dress comes in a regular and petite length, and the petite version hits right at the calf (which is perfect for us 5ft girlies).
I loved the dress so much that I decided to wear it to dinner on Friday night after filming the Reel in it. I brought along my red Coach wristlet, and in minutes, I had the perfect Memorial Day look going with the blue and white chevron stitch pattern in the dress. Don’t be surprised if you see me in this look on the Fourth of July, too.
Aside from the length, I love that the dress also has a lining sewn into it (otherwise, that could be a little embarrassing, given the knitted fabric). But the coverage is good, and so is the quality. I also love that this dress is machine washable, which will make keeping it clean much easier. In terms of the fit, I ordered a size XXS, and it feels like it runs a little big (which, honestly, is probably better for a summer dress). But, if you’re looking to order this dress, I would recommend sizing down.
