Hello, summer! Well, unofficially, but still. I’ve jumped right into it this month and have been enjoying the warm weather every chance I get. Whether it’s a sanity stroll at the end of the day at my local beach or a day of sailing, there’s nothing better than life on Long Island in the summer.
Here’s what’s on my agenda this month:
Go: If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that I have been loving my time on the water this summer. I’m so grateful to my client, who has generously invited me out on her boat and reignited my love of water sports. There’s nothing better than being on the water with a breeze after a long day. Plus, you can’t beat the quiet (and the sunset views). I hope to do a lot more sailing this summer, and I am looking forward to meeting new people in the sailing community.
Do: Would it even be summer if I wasn’t taking cardio dance classes at Forward__Space? I’m so happy they have expanded their residency at The Barn this summer and that they will be out East from June through August. I find their classes to be a great stress reliever and the best way to start my weekend.
Learn: If my summer had a theme, it would be to learn new things. And that’s just what I am doing with Babbel. I recently started the lessons in this online learning platform to brush up on my German language skills, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. I shared more in this post about why I like Babbel’s platform so much, and they even gave me a discount code for you to try, if you’re looking to learn a new language or improve your skills.
Honor: June is a hard month. June 17 is not only my 11th anniversary as a thyroid cancer survivor, but it also marks one year since my grandmother passed. While I’m unsure of how to appropriately mark the day at this time, one thing is certain, and that’s that I will be thinking of her (and probably singing a Johnny Mathis or Frank Sinatra song in her honor).
