Meet my New Sunnies from Meller 

When summer rolled around, the one thing I was missing was my favorite pair of J. Crew sunglasses. I searched high and low for my black cabana sunnies, but couldn’t find them anywhere. I had a tortoiseshell pair as a backup, but still, it wasn’t the same. 

So, I did what anyone would do and started to search the Internet for a new favorite pair. It was then that I noticed how much the styles have changed, and long gone are the oversized sunglasses I had grown accustomed to and loved, and in are the retro aviators that I had always shied away from. Except now, they’ve re-emerged in better, more modern styles (and with lots of colors and frame sizes to choose from). 

I spotted the brand Meller making the rounds on Instagram and decided to check out their selection. I was looking for a tortoiseshell and a black pair and found them in the Shipo and the Kessie. I liked that Meller offered a virtual try-on option through their Instagram, so I could see how the frames would look on my face. I’m always hesitant to buy frames online because it can be hard to tell if the frame size and shape will work for me. 

Initially, I thought the Shipo frames would end up being too oversized, but when they arrived, they appeared much smaller than they looked online. I was also surprised when they arrived on my doorstep two days after I had placed the order. When I ordered the Shipo frames, I went out of my comfort zone in terms of the style. Not only was I unsure of the frame size, but I opted for the tortoiseshell with the Tigris Yellow lenses, which I ended up loving in person more than I thought I would. While the lighter lens color took some getting used to for me, the lenses themself are the clearest ones I’ve ever looked through.

While the Shipo was an immediate favorite, the Kessie is also a great modern, geometric shape, and the all-black frames make it a sleek option for summer. The Kessie comes in many colors, making choosing which color to select even harder. 

Both options offer UV400 protection, anti-scratch, and hydrophobic coating, and come in lots of trendy colors making them the perfect summer staple!
